Over 100 never-before seen pictures of Marilyn in this new book were captured by photographer John Vachon in the summer of 1953 when Marilyn was 27 years old. At that time, John of LOOK magazine in Alberta, Canada had chance to shoot Hollywood bombshell because she had her injured ankle filming “River of No Return” with Robert Mitchum.

Among her unpublished images, there is a photo of Monroe and her fiancé – baseball legend Joe DiMaggio, which makes John Vachon the only photographer the couple formally posed for.
